Who is Martie Faye?

She's a matchstick about to spark.

Martie Faye finds writing about herself in third person bizarre, but here we are. Always having had a flair for the dramatic, Martie Faye has been singing since she was four, and began writing her own stories at age six. This was around the same time that she discovered the beauty of storytelling, which she believes is rudimentary to songwriting. (In case you were curious, she wrote her first song lyrics at 13 and composed her first song at 18.)

While she developed her voice by studying with various teachers and coaches, ranging in style from choral and classical, to pop and soul music, Martie Faye was also developing her other voice.

After discovering the magic of poetry, specifically spoken word poems, she discovered her unique and percussive writer's voice. This was fostered by her interests in artists and like Fleetwood Mac, Maggie Rogers, Taylor Swift, Whitney Houston, and Lorde, to name a few.

A product of the Greenfield Public School system and a graduate of Agawam High School, Martie Faye not only graduated with honors but with awards in musicianship and performing arts. She then enrolled and attended Stonehill College, in Easton, MA, for one year, studying performing arts, along with history, anthropology, and German. While at Stonehill, she was part of the Collegiate Chorale, the Musical Theatre Club, and was part of the pre-professional Stonehill Theatre Company. However, life did not go according to her four-year plan, and Martie Faye left school to pursue music full-time.

Through a series of fortunate events, Martie Faye was able to perform at The Industry Network in January 2018 and January 2019. While there, she performed in front of agents, managers, and recording studio directors. This was just the beginning of the journey.

In the summer of 2018, she had her first recording session at Savvy Soundz Studio in California.

Her debut single, "Everything You Need" was released on October 12, 2018, also making its radio debut the same day.

Her sophomore single "Magnetize" was released in January 2019.

In December 2019, Martie Faye released her third single "Never Here." Which was selected to be featured on Spotify Philippines' New Music Friday playlist, and was reviewed by two European blogs.

During the global pandemic, Martie Faye learned how to produce music and released several DIY projects, most notably her debut EP, "Reaching out for a Lullaby."

Currently, Martie Faye is based in Los Angeles, CA and is working on new material set to be released throughout 2021.
